Introducing Boxxer Lux, a motion-activated French cleat wall attachment, ingeniously designed for the dynamic environment of Art University classrooms. This versatile creation is not just a tracing table but also serves as a floating shelf and an illuminated surface to exhibit the vibrant projects of budding artists.

Design Ingenuity:

Crafted with the flexibility of an artist’s studio in mind, Boxxer Lux comes to life in two distinct materials – the sleek durability of metal and the warm authenticity of wood. These two manifestations work in tandem, reflecting the diverse yet unified spirit of creativity found within the classroom.

Dual Functionality:

  • Tracing Table Mode: Boxxer Lux transforms into a backlit tracing table, providing a bright, even light essential for detailed drafting and tracing work.

  • Floating Shelf Mode: When not in use for tracing, Boxxer Lux serves as a sleek floating shelf, offering a space-efficient storage solution for art supplies and personal items.

  • Display Surface: The built-in illumination makes Boxxer Lux an ideal platform for showcasing student artwork, casting each piece in the best light to capture the intricate details and colors.

Team Synergy:

This project is a celebration of collaborative design between me an Gwen – where metal and wood versions come together, distinct in character but united in purpose. Each material choice offers a different aesthetic and tactile experience, while maintaining the core functionality that is pivotal to the design.

Conclusion:

Boxxer Lux is more than a piece of furniture; it's a testament to the multifunctional design that empowers students to create, present, and organize their workspaces with efficiency and style. It embodies the inventive and adaptable spirit of the art community, providing tools that evolve with the artists themselves.
